Manufacturer Notification regarding Yealink CP965
Dear customer,
We have recently had a distributor notification from our close partner at Yealink regarding a need for updating CP965 firmware versions.
They have come across a known issue that affects the display of CP965’s (detailed below) and provided detailed reasoning and resolution steps, a bonus to this firmware update is an Android OS jump from 9 to 12 and some additional new features.
Details of issue:
Yealink HQ have identified a CP965 issue with display deterioration and potential flickering. If the issue occurs within six months to two years(100% occurrence rate on varying usage times) of use, then the devices cannot be repaired. After a thorough investigation it has been identified that this issue is attributed to a software quality problem that results in hardware damage.
Affected Models:
CP965-SIP: The software version needs to be upgraded to completely resolve the issue.
CP965-Teams: Since the Teams Admin Center (TAC) will push mandatory software updates to devices in the field, the risk is low, and no rectification is needed.

The devices at risk can be identified by certain serial number formats as follows:
How to identify the risky devices: Products with SN number between segment G01 to G11 will be in the risky range. The others are not affected, you can continue to sell/use them.

Solution:
In short, Yealink HQ have released a new firmware version that will need to be used for an update to resolve the issue.
