Handling Unwanted Calls - Simplified Hosted UC
The first step to preventing unwanted calls is to locate a record of the call. From here you can then block the caller. Firstly access the Call Data Records (CDR) section.
These can be filtered by inbound, outbound or forwarded calls. Where there is an associated standard call recording, that can also be downloaded. Please note, the correct ACL is required to download and listen to call recordings Please see the Access Control Management article for further information.
If you wish to view calls within a specific time period, simply select the start and end dates from the “from” and “to” date pick boxes and click “show result”. Calls during this period will be shown.
Calls can also be filtered by the “direction” of the call. Click the options next to “show” to specify which calls to display.
If you wish to export the call data, please click the “download call records button”. Please note that if you have filtered the data in the widget (i.e. between certain dates) only that data will be exported.
Calls from or to numbers can be searched for by entering the numbers in the voice calls search boxes.
Please note that the exact number must be used in the search. For example, if the number was presented in E.164 format, the search must be in E.164 format. However, to assist in searching, we recommend that the preceding 44 or 0 be omitted from the search so that local and E.164 entries are returned.
Callers can be added to the phonebook or blocked by clicking the double arrow icon next to the number.
This will reveal a further two buttons. To add the number to the phonebook, click the notepad icon and to block the number, click the “no entry” icon.
Clicking the notepad icon opens up a new window to allow you to configure the phonebook entry for the number. Once complete, press “submit”.
When the “no entry” icon is clicked, a window opens to allow you to block the caller.
This allows you to prevent the number from calling specific users. To block the number reaching all users, click the first entry, then then press CTRL+A on your keyboard to select all users. Once the selection has been made, click submit.
Anonymous call rejection
To block Anonymous calls simply either locate and anonymous call in the records or enter the text "Private" in the caller number field and then follow the process outlined as above for specific numbers.
